At 80, Roy is the oldest Indian to complete 115th full marathon on 20th January 2013 in Mumbai

Roy holds the Indian Record of marathon for 55+ age group in 3 hours 10 minutes made in August 1987 at Delhi. This record is still remain unbroken after 23yrs.
Roy also holds Half-marathon record of India for 55+ age group made at the age of 55 yrs in 1 Hour 23.57 min at Delhi in 1987.
Roy’s best time in 5000 Mtrs race done in 20 Min 40 seconds at the age of 59 yrs at Delhi 1991.

Roy is the first Indian to have run a marathon race after attaining the age of 60 years, 70 years, and also 80 years.

Roy is the first Indian who has run on following occasions two marathons on two consecutive Sundays:

In 1997
1. New York City marathon – 2 November 1997 (Age- 65 years)
2. Rhode Island Marathon – 9 November 1997 (Age- 65 years)

In 1998
1. Rotterdam Marathon – 19 April 1998 (Age- 66 years)
2. Wroclaw Marathon – 26 April 1998 (Age- 66 years)

In 2003
1. Prague Marathon – 18 May 2003 (Age- 71yrs)
2. Vienna Marathon – 25 May 2003 (Age- 71yrs)

Roy is the only Asian to have run the following three Marathon Races in U.S.A. on three consecutive Sundays and stood first in all three races in his age group of 65 – 69 Years.

1. Toledo Marathon – 25th April 1999
2. Cleveland Marathon – 2nd May 1999
3. Cincinnati Marathon – 9th May 1999

Roy has run 13 marathons in the year 2009 as given below at the age of 77 years.
